molecule mt

molecule mt is a portfolio installation consisting of multitouch input capable hardware and a multi-user software application.

It represents the result of my bachelors thesis in Information Design at the FH Joanneum Graz/Austria in January 2009.

Central task of the installation for the anni- versary exhibition »10 years of Information Design at FH Joanneum Graz« was to communicate the variety and diversity of design projects to the visitors.

This was achieved by letting users simultaneously browse through a pool of selected student projects which are connected by the contained design disciplines. Image, text and time based media are offered to the user to communicate each projects content.

The application is written in Flash AS3, fed by a MySQL database. Also, a multi-touch table suitable for exhibition purposes was built using an optical tracking solution.
